People in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, managed to catch a sighting of a rare white vulture. Despite the fact that most vulture species are becoming extinct in the country.
The locals played host to the capture of a rare Himalayan Griffon Vulture.
The Himalayan Griffon Vulture has a wingspan of almost five feet. It is typically found in the Himalayas of the Tibetan plateau and is considered to be “near endangered”.

- An extremely rare Himalayan Griffon Vulture was taken into custody in Colonelganj in Kanpur.
- According to the news reports, the vulture had been spotted in the region for about a week.
- According to locals, “The vulture had been residing in this area for the past week.”
- Although the locals tried several times but were unable to catch the vulture.
- In the end, however, they were successful in catching the vulture.
- Almost immediately after that, the forest department was informed of the situation.
- Thereafter the vulture was given to the authorities and was taken care of.
- A number of residents from the surrounding area converged on the location in order to have sight of the exotic bird and take photographs with it.
- It is unclear how the vulture landed in Kanpur but the citizens are happy that it will be taken care of by the forest officials.
