This Independence Day, India’s got something big planned!  Every year on August 15th, India celebrates its Independence Day. This is the day when India got its freedom many moons ago. It’s like a birthday for the country!

Unity, Selfies, Celebration!

• This year, a grand party is being thrown at the Red Fort in Delhi. Imagine this, our Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi, will be there to unfurl our beautiful flag (It has three cool colors, by the way!).
• And guess what? 1,800 special people are invited. Now, these aren’t your everyday celebs or stars; they are superstars from our very own neighborhoods. We’re talking about village leaders, farmers, construction workers, teachers, and even fishermen!
• But wait, there’s more! There are 12 special “Selfie Points” all over Delhi where people can snap pics. There’s also a super fun selfie contest on the MyGov website. If your selfie is the coolest, you might just win ₹ 10,000! Cha-ching!
• The big bosses of the Indian Army are taking care of all the arrangements. And, two amazing women, Major Nikita and Major Jasmine, will be right next to the Prime Minister when the flag is raised.
• Oh, and just when you think it can’t get any cooler, helicopters will shower flower petals everywhere. It’s like nature’s own confetti!
• PM Modi, our main man, even changed his profile pic to the Indian flag, and he wants everyone to do it too! He’s started a #HarGharTiranga movement, where everyone shares photos with the flag.
• This year, Independence Day isn’t just about a flag-hoisting ceremony; it’s a mega celebration of the people, by the people, and for the people. It’s all about unity, fun, and lots of selfies!
• India’s Independence Day 2023 is all set to be grand and special. And remember, whether you’re taking selfies, flying kites, or just munching on sweets, the day is all about the love and pride we have for our country. So, put on your best clothes, wave that flag, and celebrate India’s big day!
