Saying Goodbye to South Korea’s Favorite Giant Panda
Say Goodbye to Fu Bao
Imagine a furry friend with big black circles around its eyes, a cuddly-looking tummy, and the cutest little tail! That’s a giant panda, and South Korea is bidding farewell to one very special giant panda named Fu Bao.
Fu Bao means “lucky treasure,” and she’s been exactly that for everyone at Everland Amusement Park. But now it’s time for her to head home to China. Let’s learn why and celebrate this amazing animal!
A Special Giant Panda Farewell
Fu Bao was the first giant panda ever born in South Korea! Her parents came from China a few years ago as a sign of friendship between the two countries. Her fans had a big party before she left, with lots of hugs and wishes for a happy trip.
Even Fu Bao’s keeper, Kang Cher-won, will miss her dearly. He says Fu Bao taught him so much about giant pandas.
Why Giant Pandas Go Home
“Imagine giant pandas have special passports, just like us! They visit other countries for a while to learn new things and meet new friends. But just like you wouldn’t want to stay on vacation forever, giant pandas eventually need to return to their home in China.
Why? Because China is like a giant panda paradise! There are special forests with all the tastiest bamboo they love, and scientists there are experts at helping pandas stay healthy and have lots of adorable cubs. By learning from these experts and living in the perfect panda environment, giant pandas can grow strong and have healthy families!”
We’ll Miss You, Fu Bao!
While it’s sad to say goodbye, everyone wishes Fu Bao a safe journey and a wonderful life in China. There’s a Chinese proverb that says, “Within the four seas, all men are brothers.” Even though Fu Bao is going home, it reminds us that our friendship with China is strong!
