How are you protecting yourself this monsoon?Monsoon season is starting in India. It is the season when many areas all over India will receive heavy rainfall. It usually lasts from June to September. The rains bring relief from the heat but it can also bring diseases which we must be aware of.

As we are already fighting the COVID-19 disease, it is important that we do not get any other disease. This will make it doubly hard to recover.

Doctors say that physical distancing should be followed by everyone. It is also important to maintain personal hygiene as well as clean surrounding areas.

Many diseases during the monsoon season are mosquito-borne. They include dengue, malaria, chikungunya. Other diseases like typhoid, influenza and viral fever are also common.

Fever is a common symptom with all these diseases as well as COVID-19. So, if you feel feverish, make sure to seek medical help to find out exactly what is causing it.

How can you stay safe?

Drink safe and clean water.
 	Wash vegetables, fruits thoroughly with clean water before cooking
 	Avoid eating from outside and try to eat only home-cooked food which is fresh.
 	Make sure to use mosquito repellents or mosquito nets.
 	Wear clean and dry clothes.
