Recommended for Foundational Grades
Happy Eid-ul-Fitr or Eid Mubarak!
The festival of Eid-ul-Fitr or Ramzan Id is also known as the “Festival of Breaking the Fast“.
This festival is celebrated by Muslims all over the world. It celebrates the end of the month-long fast of Ramadan or Ramzan. This year, Ramzan started on 14 April in India. So, Eid-ul-Fitr is celebrated today. But the date can be a little different from country to country. This day is to remind believers to be thankful for what all that they have.
The celebration of Eid starts after the sighting of the Ramzan Moon (the crescent moon). It is also known as Ramzan ka Chand dekhne ki Dua. People meet with friends and family to celebrate. They celebrate the festival with prayers and special dishes like seviyyan (a sweet dish).
This year, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, people have been requested to celebrate the festival at home, instead of going out.
