ICC Cricket World Cup update: England beat South Africa in opening match

ICC Cricket World Cup update: England beat South Africa in opening matchEngland won the opening match of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019, played yesterday against South Africa.

England won by 104 runs.

England's Ben Stokes was the stand-out player of the match, playing with all-round excellence.
 	South Africa's opening batsman Hashim Amla, retired hurt after scoring 5 runs.

The important match scores

South Africa won the toss and opted to send England in to bat first.

1st innings: England scored 311 runs for 8 wickets (50 overs): Ben Stokes scored 89 runs while Eoin Morgan, Jason Roy and Joe Root all scored half-centuries (50 runs or more). South Africa's Lungi Ngidi took 3 wickets for 66 runs.

2nd Innings : South Africa scored 207 runs (39.5 overs): Quinton De Kock scored 68 runs and Rassie Van der Dussen scored 50 runs. England's Archer took 3 wickets for 27 runs.

England is considered the favorite team to win the title this time.

The match today will be between West Indies and Pakistan at 3:00 PM IST.
