‘Tornado Outbreak’ devastates Ohio communities

‘Tornado Outbreak’ devastates Ohio communitiesSeveral high-intensity tornadoes tore across highly populated areas in and around Dayton, Ohio (US) on 27th May 2019.

Officials issued 36 tornado warnings, one flash flood warning, and recorded multiple instances of golf ball-sized hail in the Dayton area.
 	The National Weather Service said that due to the extensive devastation, it'd take several days to conduct damage surveys.

Several counties in the cities of Ohio and Indiana on the East coast of the US were affected.

Damage Done

Extensive damage has been sustained in these neighbourhoods.

Trees and power lines have been uprooted, roofs peeled off of houses and businesses, walls caved in.
 	Several people have been injured.
 	Due to wide spread power outages, water plants and pump stations have also been affected.
 	People have been asked to conserve water until electricity is restored.

Local school districts cancelled classes after sustaining damage to the school buildings.

The US experienced its fourth-worst tornado season ever. There have been over 300 tornadoes in the last two weeks in May.

Meteorologists hope that June will not face such extreme weather.
