2019 French Open: Updates of Day 8On 2nd  June, it was Day 8 of the 2019 French Open tournament.

The Men's Single's match between Kei Nishikori and Benoit Paire was suspended due to darkness as the match started late. It was suspended with Nishikori leading by 2 seats. It will continue today.

Some prominent winners of the day

Women's Singles matches

Sloane Stephens beat Garbine Muguruza by a score of 6-4, 6-3.
 	Johanna Konta beat Donna Vekic by a score of 6–2, 6–4.

Men's Singles matches

Roger Federer beat Leonardo Mayer by a score of 6−2, 6−3, 6-3.
 	Rafael Nadal beat Juan Ignacio Londero by a score of 6−2, 6−3, 6−3.

Men's Doubles Matches

Antoine Hoang and Benjamin Bonzi beat Rohan Bopanna and Marius Copil by a score of 1-6, 7-5, 7-6.

Women's Doubles Matches

Zheng Saisai and Duan Yingying beat Anett Kontaveit and Daria Kasatkina by a score of 5-7, 7-5, 6-4.

With his win in this round, Roger Federer has become the oldest man to reach the quarter-finals of a Grand Slam, since 1991.

Day 9 (3rd June 2019) will see matches from Simona Halep, Sofia Kenin and Novak Djokovic.

Apart from singles, doubles and mixed doubles play, French Open also has Junior and wheelchair tournaments.
