Sunday, Day 10 at the Tokyo Olympics turned out to be game-changing for India.

Badminton star, P.V. Sindhu won a bronze medal in the women’s singles. This is India’s second medal this time, after Mirabai Chanu’s silver medal earlier.

With this win, Sindhu has also become the first Indian woman to win two Olympic medals. She had won a silver medal at the 2016 Rio Olympics. Moreover, she is now the second Indian athlete to win 2 individual medals at the Olympics.

Indian women’s hockey team also beat Australia in the quarterfinal match. Gurjit Kaur scored the winning goal for the hockey team. They will now play against Argentina in the semi-finals. The Indian men’s hockey team has also entered the semifinals.

Moreover, discuss thrower Kamalpreet Kaur is in the final. Shooter Saurabh Chaudhary also made it into the semi-finals of 10m pistol shooting. However, India also faced some disappointments as Dutee Chand failed to qualify for the women’s 200m semifinals.

World Tally at the Tokyo Olympics

India is at 59th position with one silver medal and one bronze medal. China continues to remain at the top, while the US and Japan are second and third, respectively.
