Rishad Premji is Wipro’s new Executive Chairman

Rishad Premji is Wipro’s new Executive ChairmanWipro company's chairman, Azim Premji has announced his retirement.

His son, Rishad Premji will now be the Executive (having the power to take decisions) Chairman of Wipro.

Rishad (42) is a graduate from the Harvard Business School, US and had worked in a few companies before joining Wipro.

About Azim Premji:

Azim Premji led Wipro for 53 years.
 	His retirement will be effective from 31st July 2019.
 	Azim Premji now plans to focus on philanthropic (charity) activities.
 	He had donated a major part of his wealth to charitable causes earlier.

About Wipro:

Wipro was earlier known as Western India Products Ltd.
 	It was founded by Azim Premji’s father, Mohamed Hasham Premji, in 1945.
 	Wipro is India’s 4th largest Information Technology (IT) services company.
 	The company is worth US$ 8.5 billion.
 	Apart from IT, Wipro also deals with other products in India like deodorants, dishwashing liquid etc.
