Curious Times in conversation with Shrinka Sengupta
I completed by graduation in English (hons.) in 2013 from the Calcutta University and Post-graduation in English from Pondicherry University in 2015. I completed B.Ed in 2017. I qualified CTET in 2019. Currently, I am working as an Assistant English Teacher at Techno India Group Public School, Garia.
I love cooking and trying out new recipes of various cuisines. Apart from that I enjoy music. Jazz and Blues are my favourite genres of music. I like reading books and my favorite authors are James Joyce and T.S. Eliot. I feel that my patience and farsightedness help me to win over any challenge that life offers to me.
What inspired you to become an educator?
The desire to facilitate knowledge to everyone motivated me to become an educator.
What do you love the most about being a teacher?
I like the endless interactions with my students, the fun times that we enjoy together and the memories that we make everyday. The unconditional love that I receive everyday makes me cherish my profession.
The one change you would like to bring in the current education system.
I feel that the children need to invest some time in introspection which would ensure better knowledge for their own self.
Your message to your 21st-Century-students.
My message to the students is that they should be creative. They should keep reading and learning new things. Learn about new technologies and use them wisely.
A special story, memory or message that you want to share.
My students inspire me everyday to be a better teacher. I want to extend my gratitude to each one of them for being a constant force in my journey of seeking perfection.
