New report says that the world will get half of its power from wind, solar by 2050According to a report released by research company BloombergNEF, nearly half of the world’s electricity will come from renewable (not finished when used) energy by 2050.

By 2050, solar and wind energy will supply almost 50% of the world’s electricity. Hydropower, nuclear and other renewable energy resources will provide another 21%.
 	Since 2010, the cost of wind energy has dropped by 49%, and solar energy is cheaper by 85%. That makes them much cheaper than energy from coal or gas plants.

By 2050, 92% of Europe’s electricity will be from renewable sources of energy.

China and India will also get about 70% of their electricity from solar and wind by 2050.

The decrease in the use of fossil fuels will have a big impact on companies involved in fossil fuels as well as climate change.

Other potential sources of renewable energy could be geothermal energy and energy from ocean waves and tides. Additionally, new technologies could also be developed between now and 2030.
