FIFA Women’s World Cup 2019: England and France are through to the quarterfinalsThe FIFA Women's World Cup is underway.

23rd June (and 24th June early morning for India) saw two matches. England and France were the winners of the matches and they are through to the quarterfinals.

Match 1 - England versus Cameroon.

England won the match. However, there was some controversy over the use of VAR (Video Assistant Referee) and there were protests from Cameroon.

The final score was England 3 - Cameroon 0.
 	England's goals were scored by Steph Houghton, Ellen White and Alex Greenwood.
 	The Player of the Match was Steph Houghton.

Match 2 - France versus Brazil.

The score tied at 1 - 1 at the end of regular time, which took the match to overtime. France scored in the 106th minute, winning them the match and they will progress to the quarterfinals.

The final score was France 2 - Brazil 1.
 	France's goals were scored by Valerie Gauvin and Amandine Henry.
 	Brazil's goal was scored by Thaisa.
 	The Player of the Match was Amandine Henry.

The next Round of 16 matches on 24th June will be between:

Spain and United States at 9:30 PM IST
 	Sweden and Canada at 12:30 AM IST (25th June)
