MHRD releases ‘EQUIP’- a vision plan on quality educationThe Department of Higher Education of the Human Resource Development Ministry (MHRD)  released a five-year vision plan.

The plan is named as 'Education Quality Upgradation and Inclusion Programme (EQUIP)'.
 	The report was finalised by a group of experts including senior academicians, administrators and industrialists, after detailed discussions and trials.
 	Over 50 initiatives were suggested by them to transform the higher education sector.

EQUIP has majorly focused on the following areas;

Strategies for increasing accessibility to higher education
 	Best teaching/learning process
 	Promoting excellence
 	Governance reforms
 	Quality assessment, accreditation and ranking systems
 	Promotion of research and innovation
 	Employability

The department goal will be to upgrade the quality of education India to global standards. It also aims to position at least 50 Indian institutions among the top-1000 global universities.
