Binge on Netflix’s K-Dramas – What’s next?

Recommended for Secondary Grades

After ‘The Squid Game” what next?

We loved “The Squid Game”, “The Silent Sea”, “My Way” and to think that was the end of it. “Netflix’s K-Dramas” – what’s showing next? It is the most frequently asked question at Curious Times.  In addition, as someone who got introduced to the world of South Korean cinema through “The Squid Game”, we are pretty excited to see what Netflix has lined up for 2022. Some of you might think that some of the shows are violent and maybe not suitable for “kids”.

You might hear the phrase “binge-watch” more often than “Do your homework?” in today’s times. So, let’s get on the same page, shall we?

What is binge-watch?

If you watch multiple episodes of a series non-stop, it is called as “binge watch”.

It’s not “real”, it’s “make-believe”

Well, remember kids, the majority of the content we see in cinema and movie halls is “make-believe”. So, what that means is that there is no “actual violence”.

Remember, if you see blood – think “tomato ketchup” or “artificial red colour”.
Or, if you hear loud hitting noises, think of  “great sound effects”.

What we’ve gathered so far from the Korean shows is that majority of them have interesting storylines and the characters look convincing. In addition, once the show is over they almost always leave your imagination with a factor or remainder of “Wow!”

Netflix’s K-Dramas – worthy and upcoming

We love to binge-watch Korean dramas. So, we’re super excited to share with you what’s upcoming from Netflix.

All of us are dead – The plot of this seems very interesting. A bunch of students get trapped in their school and there is a virus outbreak. Wow! Think zombies, action, drama, a lot of noise and tense moments.

Glitch – Check this out if you love drama+suspense+supernatural stuff. A woman tries to find her missing boyfriend with the help of members of an Unidentified Flying Object (UFO) club.

Money Heist: Korea – If you’ve followed the Spanish series, the plot pretty much remains the same. Further, it would be interesting to see the way the theme is treated when it comes to the Korean cast and crew.

The Sound of Magic – For all you toon lovers, this might be a treat to watch. Struggles of a teenager who has to grow up fast to support her struggling family. Her life changes forever when she meets a magician.

Let’s wait and watch

These are just some of the shows that’d we wanted to share. We are sure we could add many more to the list. Tell us in the comments section your favourite Netflix’s K-Dramas that you are waiting for?
