An aardvark is born in the UK’s Chester zoo.

Chester zoo in the United Kingdom has witnessed the birth of an aardvark calf for the first time in 90 years.

What is an aardvark?

An aardvark is a medium-sized mammal found in Africa. It has a pig-like nose which is used to sniff the food.

Aardvarks live in different types of habitats. They are mostly found in the sub-Saharan regions throughout Africa.

Birth the Aardvark

The baby aardvark was born on 4th January in the Chester zoo. Recently, it is discovered that the baby was a female. The little calf has been named Dobby, the house-elf in the Harry Potter Series. It is because this little aardvark has a close resemblance to the character.

The calf was born with large droopy ears, hairless wrinkled skin and giant claws. The baby calf Dobby is under the care of the zookeepers. They have to feed for around five weeks so that the baby calf gets the strength.

The picture of the new aardvark calf has been shared by Chester Zoo on Twitter. They’re happy to reveal that the calf is a girl.
