A Chinese airplane carrying 132 passengers crashes in China

A commercial Chinese airplane carrying 132 passengers crashed into a mountain in Kunming in South China. The aeroplane had lost contact with air traffic control and lost thousands of metres in three minutes.

Civil Aviation Administration of China(CAAC) stated that the airplane lost airborne contact in the Guangxi region on Monday afternoon.

Plane crash incident

The Chinese airplane MU5735 had not arrived in Guangzhou. Flight tracking website FlightRada24 didn’t show any data after 2:22 PM.

The tracking website showed that the plane dropped from an altitude of 29,100 feet to 3,225 feet in three minutes before crashing down. The crash caused a fire which was extinguished later.

Rescue operations

The rescue operations are underway. Many firefighter planes were dispatched to the region. The nearby villagers also offered help at the moment.

Directorate General of Civil Aviation(DGCA) has put Boeing 737 fleets of Indian carriers for surveillance following the crash incident. Three Indian carriers — SpiceJet, Vistara and Air India Express — have Boeing 737 aircraft in their fleets.

The number of the casualties is still unknown. You can see the drone footage of the incident below posted by @CGTNOfficial on Twitter.
