My Expressions

Curious Times in conversation with R.Sathia Praba Devi

I am postgraduate in M.Sc, M.Phil and B. Ed. I'm working as BT Assistant teacher in Panchayat union middle school in Arumugagoundanur coimbatore.

I’m a dedicated teacher working for the poor children’s upliftment in all sorts of their life. I’m concentrating not only on their studies but also on their future growth and behavior in public. My hobby is surfing on internet to update my knowledge about new applications and websites which will support for my teaching learning process. I also like to read magazines on Curious Times. My skills include vocal music, dance, speech and creation of E-contents and assessments. My family and students are my strength.

Here is a video, I want to share with everyone.

What inspired you to become an educator?

In my school days, I used to be the group leader of my class. At that time, I liked to imitate a particular subject teacher and explain the concepts. Later, my liking for teaching increased and I chose my career as an educator, My science teacher, Mr.Chinnasamy also inspired me.

What do you love the most about being a teacher?

Being a teacher, I am able to approach the children easily. It helps me to shape their personality and make them good citizens of the country.

Your message to your 21st-Century-students.

I want to advice my students that they should keep learning always. Do not forget the moral values. Treat everyone equally. Respect girls and women and stand against for girl child abusing.

A special story, memory or message that you want to share.

I had a student who got transferred from Mysore to our school had a problem in pronunciation. His tone sounded girlish because he used to talk in kannada in Mysore and he talked in Tamil in the same style. Students started making fun of him.He was very studious but felt inferior to come forward. I gave him confidence and asked him to participate in science quiz competition and coached him as well. He won in the school level and got selected for block level. There also he got selected and went for district level which was the final round. Hee got the first place at the district level. Since then, he stood in the same position till his high school. I got transferred to another school when he was in eighth standard. So I wasn't able to see him. After two years, on my birthday a grown up boy came to my school and asked for me. When I saw him, he introduced himself and told that he scored 92% in his tenth standard. He further told me that its because of the encouragement and the confidence I gave to him and so as a gift for my birthday, he came to wish me on my birthday and dedicated his success to me. It was the unforgettable gift of my life.
