Curious Times in conversation with Renu Singh
Seven billion people are there on this earth. Everybody is different from the others. Nothing happens without a purpose in this world. Humans are the best creations and each person is exclusive. As I write about myself, I am here to express myself. I try to be modest, passionate, devoted, hardworking and honest. I am an enthusiastic educator. Currently, I am working as a Maths teacher at Jaipur in MPS International School as a Dean- Students’ Activities (DSA).
My hobbies are teaching and to do every task which is beyond the imagination. My strength is my family and my students. I am very down to earth and I connect to people very easily.
What inspired you to become an educator?
In my family, my parents were teachers and from childhood, I wanted to become a teacher. Red coloured pen has always attracted me and I believe that a teacher takes a hand, opens a mind and teaches a heart. This is noble profession. Teachers are our Nation builders.
What do you love the most about being a teacher?
I absolutely love my job. I constantly take challenges in my life. As a teacher, I get a new set of students every year with whom I build relationships. I enjoy teaching where a combination of talent and practice makes you successively better with time.
The one change you would like to bring in the current education system.
Yes, I want to change the concept of Rote learning. Every subject should be taught practically. Sports, yoga and fun activities should be included in the curriculum. Mother tongue should be a medium of instruction. We should adopt to new techniques of technology to use information system effectively and reduce their cost, Specialized training should be included in the education system.
Your message to your 21st-Century-students.
My message to the students is that they should remain calm, focus on your goals and be passionate. It's the correct time to take your country to new heights and never give up. A leader is a dealer of hope and the best way to imagine the future is to create it. According to Bill Gates, "Leaders will be those who empower others." So work for the upliftment of the country.
A special story, memory or message that you want to share.
Dear students, it's great to have you all in my class. You all are so imaginative and creative, I love you all, you all are unique students for me and you are real stars for me. You all are exemplary students. May you have a wonderful and exciting future ahead.
