Curious Times in conversation with Trisha Mitra
I'm a passionate educator who loves to bring changes in the society. I believe in honesty, sincerity and discipline. My subject is English and therefore, poetry is my favourite.
I like creative writing, nature photography and singing. Moreover travelling is something without which I can’t live. I strongly believe that every human being needs to have some area of interest.
What inspired you to become an educator?
Inquisitive minds of children inspired me to become an educator. To light a lamp in their lives is my primary responsibility.
What do you love the most about being a teacher?
Interacting with children and exchanging thoughts with them.
The one change you would like to bring in the current education system.
Current education system should be skill based and interest based. Performance cannot be the yardstick to judge any child. Our present education system focuses on compulsory subjects upto class 10. It can be made till class 8 and the remaining two years can be utilized as the founding years for any kind of specialization to pursue higher studies.
Your message to your 21st-Century-students.
My message to the students:
Enrich yourself with different kind of knowledge on different aspects. Do not limit yourself to one particular field of study, rather, enjoy whatever subject that you study. Learning is fun and not a burden. Inculcate values within your younger siblings as well. I repeat! Do not refrain from reading.
Books are our best friends.
A special story, memory or message that you want to share.
Create your own story and tell your tale to the whole world.
