Education is an integral part of a child’s upbringing. We, at Curious Times, have made it our aim to ensure that we also play an active role in imparting the right knowledge to all the Curious children. As such, we also are trying to ensure that we are always in touch with the leaders in education today and learning from them. After all, it is important to learn from the best.

So, today, we present to you a one-on-one conversation with Kapil Talwar. He is the Principal of Al Mahd Day Boarding School, Samaheej, Kingdom of Bahrain. The aim of education at Al Mahd is to promote a balanced development of children through a well-structured curriculum and healthy environment.

When did you decide to step into the world of education? What motivated you to become an Educator? It was in the year 2006, after my Post Graduation, that I decided to move into the world of education. It was my passion for experiential learning and teaching which motivated me to be a part of this noble profession.

Share some of the challenges you have faced in your career journey. How did you convert those challenges into the pillars of success? The biggest challenge in my journey as an educator was getting the opportunity to explore global education systems so that later I could support my students with my experiences in teaching and learning field.
Then later, I got my first foreign job in the current school Al Mahd Day Boarding school in Bahrain. The school provided me with the exposure to interact and execute the global education system in our school.

What are the changes have you observed over the years in the field of education? Are you happy with these changes? Technology has impacted the education system a lot in many ways. The technology-driven education system is really a boon for our young learners. It has made them understand concepts in a much deeper and thorough way.

What changes would you like to see in the field of Education? What role can the various stakeholders like the government, teachers, students and parents play in this? The main change I want to see in the field of Education is an interactive model of education in which every student gets an opportunity to learn from society. So, you could say, a society with a learning platform for all our young learners is my dream.

The Government can also provide support in building the infrastructure needed to realise this model of interactive Education. Moreover, students and parents can collaborate together and come up with a vision to support an interactive Education model comprising of 21st Century Learning Skills.

Share your message with the aspiring teachers and leaders of tomorrow. To teach with a combination of both heart and brain should be our aim. Learning together with a real-world application must be our goal of Education.

Share your message for your and Curious Times students. Students, today is the time to focus on developing skills and not just focus on adding knowledge to our brains. Try to do your best to add a skill to your repertoire and it will be invaluable in your life.
