Education is an integral part of a child’s upbringing. We, at Curious Times, have made it our aim to ensure that we also play an active role in imparting the right knowledge to all the Curious children. As such, we also try to ensure that we are always in touch with the leaders in education today and learning from them. After all, it is important to learn from the best.

So, today, we present to you a one-on-one conversation with Ms. Neeru Kaura. She is the Principal of BCM Sr. Sec. School, Focal Point, Ludhiana. BCM Focal Point aims to promote globally competitive, high-tech and environmentally friendly education. The school has been recommended by the Punjab School Education Board for its various achievements.

When did you decide to step into the world of education? What motivated you to become an Educator? The moment I started doing B.Ed., I decided to step into the world of education. As an educator, we have the ability to bring about many changes in society and that is what I wanted to do.

Share some of the challenges you have faced in your career journey. How did you convert those challenges into the pillars of success? One of the most difficult challenges I faced was dealing with parents, who are not literate and from the poorer strata of society. Sometimes, it can be difficult to convince such parents or children of the value of education in life and society. But on the other hand, it can be quite gratifying to be able to motivate and encourage such parents and convert these kinds of challenges into the pillars of success for their children.

What are the changes have you observed over the years in the field of education? Are you happy with these changes? Over the years, I have observed that students are scoring better in academics and this has come with a change in the format of the question paper from subjective to objective style. This reflects their in-depth understanding. There is also increased practical-based learning/ skill-based learning rather than rot learning. All these changes have made me happy.

What changes would you like to see in the field of Education? What role can the various stakeholders like the government, teachers, students and parents play in this? There should be practical and skill-based learning in the field of education. I feel that society as a whole should move towards this type of learning and it will benefit us all – be it, teachers, students and parents alike.

Share your message with the aspiring teachers and leaders of tomorrow. Teachers and educators are responsible for the upliftment of the students and the cause of education. We should always do our best to inculcate higher values and learning in our students so that they can be good future citizens of India.

Share your message for your and Curious Times students. I encourage all students to be disciplined, obedient and respect their parents, teachers and society.
