Independence Day: A Child’s Vision of Liberty
Ah, to see the world through the eyes of a child! Miss Prashikha, your artwork, titled “Independence Day,” has captured the very essence of freedom with the simplicity and vibrancy that only a young heart can express.
Children’s Creativity: A Bird Takes Flight
The watercolor wash of saffron, white, and green paints a canvas of hope and liberation, echoing the colors of our beloved Indian flag. Against this backdrop, a silhouette of a bird takes flight, leaving behind an empty cage, symbolic of the shackles broken on that momentous day in 1947.
Your artwork, dear Prashikha, serves as a gentle reminder that Independence Day is not merely a date on the calendar, but a celebration of the spirit of freedom that resides within each one of us. It’s a testament to the courage and sacrifices of our forefathers who fought for the liberty we cherish today.

DIY: Unleashing the Artist Within
Inspired by Prashikha’s masterpiece? Here’s a simple guide to create your own Independence Day artwork:
Materials:
- Watercolor paper
- Watercolor paints (saffron, white, green, black)
- Paintbrushes
- Pencil
- Masking tape
Steps:
- Prepare your canvas: Tape the edges of your watercolor paper to a flat surface to prevent warping.
- Paint the background: Wet the paper with clean water. Apply the watercolor paints in broad strokes, blending the colors to create a vibrant backdrop reminiscent of the Indian flag. Allow it to dry completely.
- Sketch the design: Lightly sketch the outline of a bird flying away from an open cage on the dried background.
- Paint the silhouette: Using black paint, fill in the bird and cage silhouettes.
- Add finishing touches: Once the paint is dry, carefully remove the masking tape. You can add additional details or embellishments as desired.
Remember, the most important aspect of art is to express yourself freely. Let your imagination soar, just like the bird in Prashikha’s beautiful artwork!
