Karthika Nair tops, gets All India rank 1 in NEET-UG 2021
NEET-UG or National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (Undergraduate) results were announced on Monday evening, 1 November. As per the National Testing Agency, 15.44 lakh students appeared for the NEET-UG examination. Out of 15.44 lakh candidates, 8.7 lakh candidates cleared the exam. Adding to the information by NTA, 8 transgender candidates have also cleared the examination.
Karthika G Nair from Mumbai topped the exams and got the NEET All India Rank 1. She scored full marks in the NEET examination, that is, 720 out of 720 marks, which is accumulated to 99.99 percentile. Karthika is 18 years old and she has become is also the All India female topper in the 2021 NEET exam.
Karthika Nair shared the first rank with Mrinal Kutteri from Telangana and Tanmay Gupta from Delhi(NCT). Moreover, she also took the first rank for Maharashtra while Hriday Mohite stood at fifth place in the All India rank list of the NEET.
The strategy of cracking NEET
Karthika G Nair said that she firmly believed in the philosophy of making mistakes. She said that she feared making silly mistakes in the main examination as it had been a problem for her. But her parents have played a major role in motivating her. They told her to learn from her mistakes and tell herself that she won’t repeat those mistakes again.
The girl shared her experience that when she was about to start her classes for 12th standard, the lockdown was announced. She took time to adjust to the new technology of online classes. She also shared that whenever she had doubts about anything, she would listen to the recorded lectures repeatedly so that she could understand the concept. So, her advice to the upcoming NEET aspirants is that they should attend all the classes. Her belief is that when you listen to one thing many times, it gets encrypted in your head. She believes that it is okay to make mistakes and it is also okay to learn from them.
Karthika revealed that she has planned to experiment with different fields but her main focus would be in Oncology. She wants to be a doctor so that she can serve the nation. Oncology is a branch of medicine that deals with the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of cancer.
