Kendriya Vidyalaya allows giving free admissions

COVID-19 has affected the education system in the past two years. Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan has decided to support the education of children who have lost parents to COVID-19.

Kendriya Vidyalayas are a network of 1,240 schools in India and 3 schools abroad. There are 25 regional offices of KVs in the country.

Decision taken by Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS)

Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) has decided to give free admission to the children who have lost both their parents to the COVID-19 pandemic in the last two years. Children across the country will be given admission under the PM Cares for Children Scheme.

This scheme ensures the care and protection of the children. It also ensures their well-being through health insurance and education until they become self-sufficient.

The KVS officials said that the children will be admitted to different classes, based on their age. The education will be free of cost from class 1 to class 12. The admission will be given on the recommendation of the concerned district magistrate.

To implement the decision of the government, the admission guidelines of the KVS have been amended. A clause that mentions giving admission to children is added to the KV admission guidelines.

The deputy commissioner of KVS has instructed the regional offices about the new admission process. They have ordered the regional officials to inform the principals about the PM scheme so that the children could be given admission.

At Curious Times, we appreciate the decision taken by the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan and send good wishes to the students and teachers.
