AI can’t be Mickey Mouse!
Recommended for Preparatory Grades
Hey there! Guess what? There’s been a lot of buzz about this fancy thing called AI, or artificial intelligence, in Hollywood. People are worried that it might replace their jobs, even the voice of the famous Mickey Mouse! Can you imagine that?
AI Buzz: Magic Endures!
- Bret Iwan, the guy who voices Mickey Mouse for Disney thinks AI is impressive. But it can never truly capture the essence of a character like Mickey. He believes that the heart of a character and the heart of storytelling are things that only real people, like performers, writers, animators, and artists, can bring to life.
- It seems like AI is making a lot of people worried in Hollywood. Writers are even going on strike because they fear AI might take their jobs. Even the actors are concerned that AI could clone their voices and faces. They might even go on strike too! So, AI is definitely causing quite a stir.
- But don’t worry, my friend! Bret Iwan, the voice of Mickey Mouse, is confident that real people will continue to do their jobs for a long time. He’s been voicing Mickey, just like the legendary Walt Disney did, and he hopes to keep doing it as long as he can. And you know what? Hand-drawn animation, which is all about using our imagination, has a special advantage over AI. So, there will always be people who want to keep creating magical characters through hand-drawn animation.
- So, remember, even though AI is pretty cool, it can’t replace the magic that real people bring to storytelling and bringing characters like Mickey Mouse to life. Let’s keep our fingers crossed that Mickey will keep entertaining us for many more years to come!
