Ashleigh Barty announces retirement at the age of 25
Ashleigh Barty is the world’s number one tennis player. She has decided to take retirement at the age of 25. She has won Grand Slam Champion three times.
Ashleigh’s early career
Ashleigh Barty was born on 24th April 1996. She is the second Australian tennis player to be ranked first in the world by the Women’s Tennis Association. Barty has won 15 singles titles and 12 doubles titles on the WTA tour.
Ashleigh Barty began to play tennis at 4 years of age. She won Wimbledon Girls’ Singles Title in 2011 and Ended up as runner-up on the WTA tour in 2013. In 2014, Ashleigh decided to take a break from tennis. She played Cricket during her break.
She resumed tennis in 2016 when she won her first WTA title at the Malaysian Open. Ashleigh took Australia to a runner-up finish at the 2019 Fed Cup. She won a bronze medal at Tokyo Olympics in 2021.
