Asia’s largest helicopter factory in India!

Tumakuru, Karnataka is now home to the largest helicopter factory in Asia. The facility will enable India to meet its entire requirement for indigenously produced helicopters.
Thus India will earn the country the distinction of being able to achieve self-reliance in helicopter demand. The self-reliance will include the design, development, and manufacture of helicopters within the country.
The Office of the Prime Minister has also stated that the manufacturing setup at the factory will adhere to the latest industry standards.
The facility has a goal of producing more than 1,000 helicopters over the next 20 years.
According to the Prime Minister’s Office, this will result in the creation of employment opportunities for approximately 6,000 people in the region.
What is light utility helicopter (LUH)?
The light utility helicopter is a new type of helicopter with the latest technology, such as a glass cockpit with multi-function displays.
The helicopter also has enough power for difficult missions at high altitudes. It can also carry as much as 500 kg. The Cheetah and Chetak helicopters used by the Indian military will be replaced by the Light Utility Helicopter.
