Bring Your Own Film Festival!

Recommended for Middle Grades

Bring Your Own Film Festival gives people who want to make movies a chance to show off their work. The one-of-a-kind festival takes place on Puri, Odisha’s sandy beaches.

There is no way to choose the films that are shown, and there is no jury and no awards. Anyone with a movie can show it. There is no order to things here.

What is filmmaking?

The process of making a movie is called filmmaking.

Everyone has the same level of respect for the films that are being shown. Also, they don’t mind telling each other what they think.

Key facts!

  • The Bring Your Own Film Festival (BYOFF) is a unique event that does not take money from any companies.
  • This year the event would exhibit more than 70 films from many different categories, runtimes, and parts of the country.
  • The way the BYOFF organisers do things is what makes the festival unique.
  • Since 2004, BYOFF has given filmmakers a place to show off their work by showing films.
  • Over 10,000 delegates and 3,500 filmmakers have taken part over the past 20 years.
  • Movie fans from all over India are there, not just from the eastern part of the country.
  • They come from places like Chennai, Mumbai, and New Delhi.
  • Everyone there feels like the event gives them some kind of hope for the future.
  • As a platform for promotions, BYOFF is about to move into the next stage of its development.
  • This year, the festival is working with an online OTT platform in Odia called AAO-Next.
  • This is so that young people who want to be filmmakers can put forward their ideas and get money to help them make their films.
  • In addition to showing movies, the festival gives people the chance to sing, dance, act out scenes, and talk about their ideas.
