First solar canal to be tested in California

The Western United States is currently facing the worst drought situation.

What is drought?

Drought is a dry period in the natural climate cycle that can happen anywhere in the world.

The dryness is increasing due to climatic changes. Scientists are working to figure out a way to protect the water supplies and boost renewable energy.  They have now figured out a solution called the Solar canals.

Solar Canal Solution

What is solar canal?

Solar canals are used to convert sunlight into electric energy.

Currently, there are solar canals of wide and narrow range under development in California’s Central Valley.

How do solar panels work?

The solar panels or the solar canals help in reducing the evaporation of water. It will help in boosting the renewable energy that is used and it will also help in saving money. In October 2020, California Natural Resources Agency initiated to conserve 30% of land and coastal waters by 2030.  As per the initiative to change the climate, solar canals are spread across the state.

The Solar Canal system is the largest system in the world. Installing the solar canals on the land will help in conserving both land and water resources in California.
