Last week, a cyclonic circulation started to take shape near the Andaman Sea. The meteorologists have begun to warn about the cyclone impacts on the Eastern coast of India. On Sunday, a severe cyclonic storm intensified.

Cyclone Asani
As per the India Meteorological Department (IMD), cyclone Asani is a severe cyclonic storm with wind speeds of 100-110 kmph and increases to 120 kmph.
Effects of cyclone Asani
As per the recent reports, cyclone Asani lies 300 kilometres away from the coast of Vishakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh and also 570 kilometres to the southwest of Puri in Odisha.

As per the IMD, the winds will affect the coastal areas of Andhra Pradesh and Odisha. These conditions have a chance to spread to the West Bengal coast as well.

Heavy rainfall is also expected in the cyclone-hit areas. These are expected for most of the Eastern coastal areas of India over the next few days. The Asani cyclone will continue to spread rain and thunderstorms over North-Eastern India. IMD has issued a red warning in the cyclone-hit areas until Wednesday.
Cyclone Karim
Cyclone Karim lies over Southern parts of the Indian Ocean. The name of the cyclone is adapted on the suggestion from the East African country Seychelles.

It is placed under a category two hurricane with a wind speed of 112 kmph. It means that the Karim cyclone can cause damage to property and fields due to the high speed of the winds. However, This cyclone is still forming and the damage from this cyclone can be controlled.  I
