Most of us love dogs, don't we? It is said that dogs are human's best friends. But did you know that dogs see the world differently as humans do? Let us know how do they see?

The dog's vision is very different from human vision. They see the world in fewer colours than humans do. Also, they have a sharp ability to hear.
How does a dog's vision works?
The dog's eyes have two kinds of colour-detecting cells while human eyes have three cells. These cells are called cones.  The colour detecting cones enable the brains of the dogs to differentiate between blue and yellow hues.

The dogs can't differentiate between red and green colour hues. Their eyes are structured in a way that they can't distinguish between the red and green hues.

The dogs lack the sharp vision which humans have. How did they identify it?

The researchers conducted a visual test amongst the canines. In the test, the dogs had to identify the images of horizontal or vertical lines with decreasing amount of space between them.

The research results showed that most of the dogs were nearsighted. The research suggests that the dogs have a vision of 20/50. This means that the dogs have to be at a distance of 20 feet from the object so that they could see it clearly.
