Egan Bernal wins Colombia’s first Tour de France titleOn 28th July, Egan Bernal became the first Colombian to win the Tour de France (6th to 28th July).

22-year-old Bernal is the youngest rider (cyclist) to win the race in 110 years.
 	He is part of Team Ineos (formerly Team Sky). This is Team Ineos' seventh win in the last eight competitions.
 	Bernal's teammate and defending champion Geraint Thomas of the UK came second.
 	Steven Kruijswijk of Netherlands came third.
 	France's Julian Alaphilippe was voted this year's most aggressive rider.

Hailstorms and landslides in the Alps shortened the race this year. The race started from Brussel and ended at Paris Champs-Élysées.

Tour de France is very popular in Europe. Millions of people line up throughout the track to cheer on the riders. It is also shown live on TV.

Tour de France

Tour de France is a yearly men's multiple-stage bicycle race primarily held in France. The race also occasionally passes through nearby countries.
 	The race consists of 21 day-long segments (stages) over a 23-day period. It covers around 3,500 kilometres, including mountains.
 	Twenty-two teams from all over the world compete in the race. Each team can have up to nine riders.
 	The Amaury Sport Organisation currently organises the competition.
