What is Google Maps?

Google Maps is a free online map from Google. We can use it through our web browser or as an app for mobile devices.

Google Maps‘ latest update will allow users to ‘draw’ missing roads. It will also allow users to realign (adjust), rename, or delete incorrect ones.

The aim of the new tool is to make it easier to add missing roads. It will also help change incorrect names or directions easily on the map.

This “drawing” will be done using a tool similar to the line tool in Microsoft Paint. To add a road, users can simply click on the side menu button. Then click on the “Edit the Map” option, select “Missing Road” and add the name.

Google will roll out this new updated tool over the coming months in more than 80 countries.

Of course, Google will check the new additions and changes to make sure that they are correct. The changes will be reviewed (checked) in seven days. Google also warns its users not to put in any incorrect information that will cause danger or inconvenience.

For now, if a user tries to add a missing road, they can only drop a pin where the road should be. Then, they can type in the road’s name to submit that information to Google.

Other updates

Apart from the above, Google Maps will also get a new feature called ”photo updates”. This will allow users to share small details about a place without having to leave a full review. One can also add images or photos of the place.
