The fight for the semi-final berths is heating up. Two matches were played on 29th June.

 

The match between Afghanistan and Pakistan was won by Pakistan.

  • 1st Innings: Afghanistan scored 227 runs (50 overs): Asghar Afghan and Najibullah Zadran scored 42 runs each. Pakistan’s Shaheen Afridi took 4 wickets/47 runs.
  • 2nd Innings: Pakistan scored 230 runs (49.4 overs): Imad Wasim scored 49 runs and Babar Azam scored 45 runs. Afghanistan’s Mohammad Nabi took 2 wickets/23 runs.

 

The match between Australia and New Zealand was won by Australia.

  • Australia won by 86 runs.
  • Australia’s Alex Carey was the Player of the Match.

The important match scores 

  • Australia won the toss and decided to bat first.
  • 1st Innings: Australia scored 243 runs (50 overs): Usman Khawaja scored 88 runs and Alex Carey scored 71 runs. New Zealand’s Trent Boult took 4 wickets/51 runs.
  • 2nd Innings: New Zealand scored 157 runs (43.4 overs): Kane Williamson scored 40 runs and Ross Taylor scored 30 runs. Australia’s Mitchell Starc took 5 wickets/26 runs.

 

Australia is now on top of the table with 14 points and Pakistan, 4th with 8 points.

Today’s match will be England versus India at 3:00 PM IST.
