ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 updates: Sri Lanka wins over AfghanistanOn 4th June, day 6 of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019,  Sri Lanka beat Afghanistan.

As rain interrupted the match, the DLS method was used and Sri Lanka beat Afghanistan by 34 runs.

The Duckworth–Lewis–Stern method (DLS) is a mathematical formulation.
 	It is designed to calculate the target score for the team batting second in an ODI (One day international) match interrupted by weather or other circumstances.

Sri Lanka's Nuwan Pradeep was the Man of the Match.

The important match scores

Afghanistan won the toss and elected to bowl.
 	1st Innings: Sri Lanka scored 201 runs (36.5 overs): Kusal Perera scored 78 runs and Dimuth Karunaratne scored 30 runs. Afghanistan's Mohammad Nabi took 4 wicket/30 runs.
 	2nd Innings: Afghanistan scored 152 runs (32.4 overs): Najibullah Zadran scored 43 runs and Hazratullah Zazai scored 30 runs. Sri Lanka's Nuwan Pradeep took 4 wickets/31 runs.

Sri Lanka were bowled out for 201 by Afghanistan after rain forced the play to be limited to 41 overs per side. The target for Afghanistan, however, was revised to 187 applying the DLS method.

Two matches will be played today. India's eagerly awaited campaign also starts today.

Between South Africa and India at 3:00 PM IST.
 	Between Bangladesh and New Zealand at 6:00 PM IST.
