ICC Women’s World Cup 2022 – India vs South Africa!

Recommended for Preparatory Grades

New Zealand is hosting the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup in 2022. The matches are scheduled for the months of March and April. This year marks the event’s twelfth running.

South Africa beat India by three wickets in a nail-biter in Auckland on Sunday. It was a nail-biter all the way to the finish line. West Indies have one more point than India in the points table, so India loses hope to get into the semifinals.

Throughout the match, the momentum changed back and forth, but in the end, South Africa came out on top and India lost. Celebrations broke out in the West Indies camp, too, because they finished fourth and India came in fifth, so they both made it through.

Key highlights – ICC Women’s World Cup 2022 – India vs South Africa

  • When India started out, Smriti Mandhana, Shafali Verma, and Raj all scored 50’s, and Harmanpreet Kaur hit 48. India made 274/7, which was a good score.
  • Harmanpreet Kaur was a huge help to India in all three areas of the game. She took two important wickets, caused two brilliant run-outs, and also scored 48 with the bat to put on a great all-around performance.
  • South Africa made it through a few nerve-wracking moments to get the job done in the last ball of the game. Mignon du Preez was named player of the match because she made an unbeaten 52 from 63.
  • A 125-run second-wicket partnership between Laura Wolvaardt (80) and Lara Goodall (49) also set South Africa up for victory.
