India reels under heatwaveThe Union Health Ministry has issued a health advisory, following heatwave conditions over parts of Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Vidarbha, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Chandigarh, and Delhi.

At least seven Indian cities and towns were among the list of 15 hottest places in the world on Monday, according to El Dorado weather website.
 	The Indian Meteorological Department has said the heat wave is likely to continue for a few more days as the monsoon is delayed.

Preventing heatstroke

The Ministry has advised that people stay indoors/in shaded places, make use of umbrellas/hats/summer clothes outside and keep themselves hydrated.
 	It has also advised people not to leave children and pets in parked vehicles.

The extreme heat has affected the homeless the most, as well as other people such as street vendors, traffic police and rickshaw drivers.
