ISRO says Gaganyaan, Chandrayaan-3 missions on track

Recommended for Missions

Hey there! Have you ever heard of ISRO? Well, it stands for the Indian Space Research Organisation. They do really cool stuff up in space, and they recently made an announcement that made everyone excited!

ISRO is all set for their big mission called Gaganyaan. They have planned to spend a whopping ₹10,000 crore (that’s a lot of zeroes!) to send people into space. Can you believe it? They’re going to have a special spacecraft that will carry 3 to 7 crew members. These brave astronauts will float around in space for 3 to 7 days, like real-life superheroes!

ISRO: Boldly Beyond

  • To make sure the astronauts are ready for their space adventure, four super-cool pilots from the Indian Air Force (IAF) are going to Russia. Why Russia? Well, they will receive some out-of-this-world training at the Yuri Gagarin Cosmonaut Centre in Moscow. They’ll learn everything they need to know about living and working in space.
  • Now, let’s talk about something super exciting called Chandrayaan – 3. Remember Chandrayaan – 2? ISRO is working on its successor, Chandrayaan – 3. They’re planning to launch it by the end of this year or early 2021. It’s going to be another awesome mission to the Moon, just like Chandrayaan – 2.
  • But wait, there’s more! ISRO has some big plans. They want to build a brand new rocket launch pad in Thoothukudi district, which is in Tamil Nadu. Right now, they launch their rockets from a place called Sriharikota in Andhra Pradesh, but they want to have another launchpad. How cool is that?
  • So, my little space enthusiast, ISRO is doing some amazing things! They’re getting ready for the Gaganyaan mission, training astronauts in Russia, planning Chandrayaan – 3, and even building a new launchpad. Who knows what other surprises they have in store for us? Keep looking up at the sky, and who knows, maybe one day you’ll be part of ISRO’s incredible space adventures!
