Kuwait, the richest country is becoming hotter.
Hey, you curious readers! Have you ever thought of visiting Kuwait? If yes, hold your horses! Kuwait is getting hotter than you can expect.
Global warming is increasing the temperatures all over the world. Kuwait, one of the richest countries in the world is becoming hotter and unlivable.
Effects of Global warming
One of the richest countries in the world is experiencing adverse effects of global warming. The country recorded a temperature of 50 degrees celsius, last year.
As per the report by Environment Public Authority in Kuwait, large parts of the country could become inhabitable. The reason is that those parts of Kuwait would get 4.5 degrees hotter than it is today.
Increasing heat in the country is affecting the wildlife badly. Dead birds on the rooftops have become a common sight in Kuwait, while stray cats and dogs are also affected.
World’s Richest Country
Kuwait is an oil-exporting country and is ranked at number 4 amongst the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries.
Kuwait has a population of over 4.5 million. Greenhouse gases are not the reason for the country becoming hotter and unlivable. The main reason is the political inaction, that is the government is not doing anything to make it a better place.
Though, at the COP-26 summit, Kuwait has pledged to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by just 7.4% by the year 2035.
