Rujuta Diwekar – A Nutrition Superstar
Who is Rujuta Diwekar?
Listen to the news
Meet Rujuta Diwekar, a real-life superhero in the world of nutrition. She’s like a wise wizard who uses her knowledge to help people eat healthily. Rujuta won a big award, the ‘Nutrition Award’ from the Asian Institute of Gastroenterology. She’s not just famous in India but all around the world. Rujuta writes books and gives talks, teaching everyone about staying healthy and happy.
In the jungle of diet fads and confusing advice, Rujuta’s voice is clear and strong. She tells us to use our common sense when we eat. Her advice is simple: “Eat local, think global.” This means we should enjoy foods that are grown nearby but also think about how our food choices affect the whole world.
Her Magic Wand – Knowledge!
A Wizard of Nutrition Knowledge
Rujuta is like a wise owl, full of knowledge about what to eat to stay healthy. She’s learned a lot over the years. In 2015, she studied the future of foods in Germany. Before that, she learned about sports nutrition in Australia in 2010. Even way back in 1999, she was studying sports science and nutrition in Mumbai. She’s always been curious, like a cat, wanting to learn more and more.
Rujuta also learned about yoga and how it helps us stay healthy. She studied at the Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Academy. She didn’t just learn from books; she learned from life, too. Rujuta combines what she knows about food with the old wisdom of yoga. This makes her advice special because it fits with our everyday lives.
Spreading the Word
Rujuta is like a great storyteller, but instead of fairy tales, she tells stories about eating right. She has written books that are like guides to help us eat better. More than 1 million copies of her books have been sold! People all over India and the world read her books to learn about food and exercise.
What makes Rujuta’s books so special is that they are easy to understand. She explains things in a way that makes sense to everyone. She believes in eating foods that our grandparents would recognize – simple, wholesome, and local. Her mantra, “Eat local, think global,” is not just a saying. It’s a way to live a healthy life, taking care of our bodies and the planet.
