Milan and Cortina win bid to host the 2026 Winter OlympicsThe two cities in Italy, Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo have won the opportunity to host the Winter Olympic Games and the Winter Paralympic Games in 2026.

The election was between the cities of Milan and Cortina and the Swedish city, Stockholm.

This election took place during the 134th session of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) in Lausanne, Switzerland on 24th June 2019.
 	The 2022 Winter Olympics will be held in Beijing, China.
 	The 2026 Winter Olympic Games will take place from 6th to 22nd February 2026, which will be followed by the Winter Paralympic Games from 6th to 15th March 2026.
 	This will be the 3rd time for Italy to host the Winter Olympics. Previously it was in Cortina in 1956 and Turin in 2006.

The Winter Olympic Games is a major international sports event held once every four years for sports played on snow and ice.

The Winter Paralympic Games is an international multi-sport event where athletes with physical disabilities compete in snow and ice sports.
