The House of Representatives, also called Pratinidhi Sabha in Nepali, is one of the two houses of the National Parliament of Nepal. The other house is the National Assembly.
Prachanda is the leader of the CPN-Maoist Centre. He has been appointed to the position of Prime Minister of Nepal in accordance with the provisions of Article 76 Clause 2 of the Constitution.

- As required by clause 2 of Article 76 of the Constitution, the President sent an invitation to any representative in the House of Representatives.
- Prachanda turned in the claim by the deadline set by the President.
- There are 275 people in the House of Representatives, and 165 of them backed Prachanda.
- After the CPN-Maoist party switched to peaceful politics, Prachanda became a well-known politician.
- At that time, the peace agreement put an end to their long-running conflict with the Nepalese monarch.
- Nepal, a country with 29 million people, held elections on 20 November 2022.
- The ruling coalition of Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba lost its majority.
- During the campaign for the election, both Deuba and Prachanda had pledged to maintain the status quo of the existing coalition for a number of years.
- Prachanda will now serve as prime minister for a total of two and a half years.
