New Zealand reaches the ICC Cricket World Cup finals defeating India

The first semi-final of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019, which was played on 9th July and continued on reserve day 10th July between India and New Zealand in Manchester was won by New Zealand.

The highlights of the match are: 

  • The reserve day started with New Zealand’s opening score of 211/5 in 46.1 overs (9th July closing score). The Kiwis’ inning closed at 239/8. Taylor top-scored at 74.
  • India’s Innings: Before the close of 4th over, India had lost 3 wickets. Jadeja made 77 runs and Dhoni 50 runs however India lost all wickets at 221 in 49.3 overs.
  • Matt Henry was the man of the match for taking 3 wickets, giving out 37 runs in 10 overs.

Indian skipper, Virat Kohli, congratulated the Kiwis.

The second semi-final between England and Australia is scheduled for 11th July 2019 at 3 p.m. IST.
