All Novak Djokovic wants to do is play some good tennis. So, stories like these always intrigue us at Curious Times. For our curious readers who may not know who we are talking about. Novak Djokovic is one of the greatest tennis players of all time. If you have ever watched Novak and Roger Federer play, you know these guys literally put into motion textbook shots. Last year Novak won the French Open, not just that he’s won Wimbledon, Australian Open and has almost 300 plus grad slam titles to his name. Only the second person in this world to reach that milestone. Wow!

So, what’s happening with this Visa story that we keep hearing in the news about? Well, Novak wants to play the Australian Open and so, he comes to Australia. Ok, that’s fine, but here’s a curveball. Post pandemic each country has COVID rules and regulations that need to be followed by international travellers. It doesn’t matter whether you are a celebrity or a common person, rules are meant to be followed (period). Like many people around the globe, Novak has not gotten himself vaccinated. Not only that, his staff did not get documents that the Australian immigration officials need and agree to if you aren’t vaccinated.
Well, now his visa gets revoked on arrival two weeks ago, his lawyers file an appeal so there is a court hearing and another hearing and his visa kept getting cancelled.
Who is winning?
The Australian courts have ruled out against his appeal to stay and looks like Novak will be deported. It’s not about winning or losing in such cases. One needs to obey country laws and abide by them regardless of your social standing in the society.
At Curious Times we hope our little kids get their shots as they get their turn. Remember, with advancements in the field of medicine, the needles and injections are so thin that one doesn’t even feel an ounce of pain while getting a shot.
