NTA declares NEET-UG 2019 results

The NTA (National Testing Agency) declared the NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test) results for UG (undergraduate) courses on 5th June.

  • The NTA conducted the NEET throughout India on 5th and 20th May, across 154 cities and in 11 languages.
  • Over 14 lakh students appeared for the exam out of which 56.49% (7,97,042 candidates) qualified.

Jaipur’s Nalin Khandelwal secured the All India Rank 1.

Telangana’s Madhuri Reddy G, whose All India Rank is 7, is first among women candidates.

 

What is NEET?

The NEET is an entrance exam to more than 66,000 MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery) and BDS (Bachelor of Dental Surgery) seats across India. It is for students who want to study for those courses in medical and dental colleges.

However, NEET is not valid for admission to AIIMS (All India Institute of Medical Sciences) New Delhi and JIPMER (Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education & Research) Pondicherry.

 

What next?

The candidates who have qualified NEET UG 2019 have to further complete the formalities with the respective counselling authorities like Directorate General Of Health Services, Medical Education Directorates of States, etc, for admission to MBBS/BDS courses.

 

About the exam

The exam tests knowledge of Chemistry, Botany, Zoology and Physics. The exam is conducted once a year.
