Lewis Hamilton breaks record for most F1 wins in history

F1 (Formula 1) racer Lewis Hamilton won the Portuguese Grand Prix on 25 October.

This is his 92nd Grand Prix win. With this win, he broke Formula 1’s all-time win record. Besides, the previous record was held by Michael Schumacher who has 91 wins.

Lewis Hamilton is a six-time F1 world champion and he drives for the team Mercedes. In this race, his Mercedes teammate Valtteri Bottas came second, while Red Bull driver Max Verstappen finished third.

Michael Schumacher is a German retired racing driver who competed in Formula One for Benetton, Ferrari and Mercedes. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest Formula One drivers of all time. Also, Schumacher is the only driver in history to win seven Formula One World Championships.

Formula One (also known as Formula 1 or F1) is the highest class of international single-seater auto racing approved by the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA). The FIA is the world governing body for racing events.

Formula One cars are the fastest legal road-course racing cars in the world, The word “formula” in the name refers to the set of rules which all participants’ cars must follow.

A Formula One season consists of a series of races, known as Grands Prix (French for ”grand prizes” or “great prizes”), which take place worldwide. 10 teams and 20 drivers participate in each season.
