Rock star’s guitars sold for US$21.5 million at a charity auctionDavid Gilmour, a famous rock musician, has recently made headlines by donating the US$21.5 million received from the sale of his guitars to charity.

David Gilmour was part of the UK band 'Pink Floyd' - one of the most successful and influential music groups in pop music history.
 	The collection sold is the largest and most expensive guitar collection sold at a charity auction*.
 	Gilmour's most famous guitar - 'The Black Strat' was sold for almost US$4 million, making it the most expensive guitar sold at a charity auction.
 	Gilmour donated all of the money he received to ClientEarth - a charity made up of lawyers and environmental experts that use the law to combat climate change.

Gilmour said that the global climate crisis is the greatest challenge that humanity will ever face. He hopes that the sale of these guitars will help ClientEarth bring about real change.

The CEO of ClientEarth thanked David Gilmour.
