Russia Ukraine Conflict!

Recommended for Secondary Grades

Russia

One of the largest countries in the world, Russia is the most populous country in Europe. Russia extends across eleven timezones and shares its border with sixteen independent nations. Russia is one of the most interesting places on our planet. Not only is it home to the coldest place on Earth (Siberia), it was also one of the countries that started vaccinating animals for COVID-19.

Ukraine

Ukraine is a country in Eastern Europe. The president of Ukraine is Volodymyr Zelensky. It is the second-largest country in  Europe. It also shares its borders with Russia. Ukraine is also an extremely fascinating and interesting country. From having one of the most beautiful sounding languages in the world, it also has the deepest metro station. The metro station is nearly 300 feet below the ground.

Russia Ukraine Conflict

In 2014, a conflict between Russia and Ukraine resulted in some areas in Ukraine being controlled by Russia. The tension in these areas has continued since 2014.  In the past month, Russia had increased the movement of its troops in these areas. Moreover, the increase of Russian military drills caught the attention of world leaders. This caused concern amongst global political leaders.

In addition, there were also reports of attacks, using online computer systems to bring down Ukrainian government websites. As we share this story there are reports of Russian troops returning to their base. Nevertheless, the situation continues to be a little tight.

One of the most well-known philosophers “Confucious” put it brilliantly, “When music and courtesy are better understood, there will be no war”.
