Instagram is a very popular photo and video sharing app today. When something looks good enough or is exciting enough to be shared on Instagram, we like to say it’s “Instagrammable”.
Well, it seems one bird is the “most Instagrammable bird” on Earth. This is according to science!
This bird is called the frogmouth bird. This bird was once called “the world’s most unfortunate-looking bird”. But now, things have really changed!
What is the frogmouth?
The frogmouth is a type of night bird. It is commonly found in Australia and Southeast Asia. It has a large flattened hooked bill and a huge frog-like gape (mouth). Its mouth makes it look like it is always angry or upset.
How did they find the most Instagrammable bird?
For this study, scientists studied over 27,000 images of birds on Instagram. They found only 65 images of the frogmouth but they had the most number of “likes”.
